Matt Rollings Trio

When Matt Rollings was a 17-year-old prodigy from Phoenix lighting out for the East Coast and the famed Berklee College of Music, he set his sights on becoming “the greatest jazz pianist of all time.” As it happened, his career took a slightly different turn. A chance gig and a series of calls landed him in Nashville, where before long he was an in-demand session musician. Fast-forward four decades and Rollings is a mainstay of the Nashville scene, with musician, writer, arranger, and/or producer credits on some 1500 albums, most of them by A-list country stars of the past half-century (and two of them winning GRAMMY awards), and collaborations with luminaries like Lyle Lovett, Willie Nelson, George Strait, Mary Chapin Carpenter, and Alison Krauss that run both long and deep.
