In an encore concert, Creative Sanctuary celebrates Billie Holiday in a birthday tribute to Lady Day April 6th, featuring some of Humboldt’s finest local singers and jazz musicians. Creative Sanctuary cofounder and driving force Katie Belknap will cohost with her frequent co-conspirator James Zeller. The two will play and also play, respectively, clarinet and bass clarinet, and trombone.
Zeller and Belknap are excited to present two wonderful local vocalists, Marina Benson and Sara Kei.
“Sara and Marina are fabulous, and their voices are really wonderful gifts to our community. It’s really going to be a thrill for me to listen to their versions of these great songs and support them musically. If you haven’t heard them, well, here’s your chance,” enthused Zeller on the topic of the show’s guests stars.
