The Artists in Schools program brings working artists to schools to teach & inspire students of all ages throughout Humboldt County.
By bringing the Arts to kids, the Artists in Schools program builds confidence and creative thinking through the Arts, deepens a sense of student’s connection to their community, contributes to the development of more well-rounded, emotionally balanced adults, and prevents our most vulnerable children from falling through the cracks. Playhouse Arts Artists in Schools program is currently partnered with 13 elementary schools in Humboldt County, and artists residencies can last anywhere from one week to a whole school year. We work with teachers, principals, and superintendents to tailor the residency to the needs of the school.
About Artists In Schools
From accordion to coptic stitch, we offer a variety of book making lessons.
Book Making
Learn the basics of teamwork in performance with games, and present group work in the end.
Improv
Site visits are one day and can happen during anytime of the year, for grades K-8. A minimum of $200 is required to book. Mix and match activities to build your ideal arts visit!
